BADMINTON CLUB HAS GOOD YEAR

The Gisborne Badminton Club is in a very sound position, both financially and with regard to its membership. Indications that the game is becoming increasingly popular are seen in the number of new members enrolled this year. This was stated by the president, Mr. R. Sloan, at last night’s annual meeting of the club. The election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr. E. Fitzmaurice; president, Mr. R. Sloan; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. H. DeCosta and T. Harrison; hon. auditor, Mr. W. Lysnar; hon. secretary, Mr. A. B- King; men’s captain, Mr. I. Niven; women’s captain, Mrs. A. B. King; committee, Mesdames E. Stephenson, Knox, Miss D. Fraser, Messrs.. I. Caie, G- Redgrave, J. Reynolds, A. Humphreys, Cummins.
