REPRIEVE GIVEN TO WIFE UNDER DEATH SENTENCE v

(10 a.m.) LONDON, April 5. Mrs. Renee Duffy, the 19 year-old mother whose appeal against the death sentence for the murder of her husband was dismissed by the Court of Criminal Appeal, has been reprieved by the Home Secretary, Mr. Chuter Ede. Mrs. Duffy was sentenced to death at the Manchester Assizes in March. The jury added a strong recommendation to mercy.
