PROTESTS VOICED BY WANGANUI UNION
(P.A.) WANGANUI, April 5. ! The Imlay branch of the Wellington ' Freezing Workers’ Union yesterday discussed peacetime military training and also the deregistration of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Carpenters’ Union. The secretary of the branch telephoned to the Press Association the following resolutions passed by the meeting. “That this branch of the Wellington Freezing Workers’ Union protests against the deregistration of the Auckland Carpenters’ Union and calls upon . the Minister of Labour, demanding that he refuse registration to the employersponsored break-away section.”' "That this branch strongly opposes the introduction of peacetime military conscription and requests the Government not to be stampeded into introducing legislation which would lead to regimentation of the manpower of this country.”
