ELLERSLIE SCORES AT FLEMINGTON

MELBOURNE, April 3.

The New Zealand-bred colt Ellerslie, who scored a stylish win in the Neerim Handicap at Caulfield, is greatly favoured for the £3OOO Easter Handicap to be run at Flemington over seven furlongs. At his previous start he won the weight-for-age Lloyd Stakes at Flcmington defeating Filipno. Bought by Mr. W. R. Kemball in New Zealand as a yearling for 1400 guineas, Ellerslie is regarded as the best son of Foxbridge to come to Australia.

In the Neerim Handicap he began slowly on a heavy track carrying 9.8 and met with several checks, but on being taken to the outside, he ran through quickly to win by a length.
