MANGAPOIKE DAM INSPECTED

The Mayor, Mr. N. H. Bull, and several members of the Gisborne Borough Council visited the site of the new Mangapoike dam during the week-end. The party traversed the three miles of new pipeline between Waingake and Mangapoike and were able to obtain a first-hand impression of the work done: The new dam was also inspected by the councillors and it was noted with satisfaction that the lake behind the dam was almost full.

A small amount of cleaning-un work still remains to be done on tne job, although both the dam and the pipeline have successfully passed all the tests.
