N.Y. Labour Opposition To Churchill’s Tour

NEW YORK, Mar. 27

More than 300 Leftists carrying signs and chanting "send that bundle back to Britain,” picketed the Ritz-Cnrlton Hotel last night, where Mr. Henry Luce, publisher, entertained Mr. Churchill at an informal dinner. Mr. Churchill entered a side door, missing the bulk of the pickets, who concentrated at the front door. One hundred policemen watched while pickets chanted and booed under the windows of the dining-room. Some pickets handed out circulars issued by State headquarters of the American Labour Party. The circulars said: “Churchill is here on business —helping to whip up war. He is here as a crack salesman for a war that can and must be stopped hv the ueople.”
