MISS LAMBIE PRESENTS MEDALS TO COOK NURSES

The Cook Hospital silver medal, awarded to the nurse who, by the standard of efficiency shown in theory and practice of nursing, her devotion to duty and interest in student nurse affairs off duty is an example to her fellow nurses, was presented to Nurse Olive M. Cloke at a hospital medal presentation yesterday. The presentations were made by' the director of the Division of Nursing, Health Department, Miss M. I. Lambic, Wellington. In the final State examination for the term June to December, 1948, there were eight candidates. There were seven passes and a partial pass and three of the successful candidates passed with honours in dietetics. The successful candidates were:— Doris Butcher, Jocelyn M. Chrisp, Olive M. Cloke (honours dietetics), Marion R. Colebrook, Aiisa Hale. Meryl Harris (honours dietetics) and Patricia C. McRae (honours dietetics).

Other awards were:—Miss Martin’s prizeJor first aggregate in hospital final examination: Nurse Patricia C. Mcßae, honours in all subjects. Essay Competition, book presented by Gisborne branch of the Registered Nurses’ Association: Nurse Josephine Scott. Tutor sister's prize for nurse showing most progress during first year of training: Nurse Margaret Dawson.
