NEW ZEALAND ROTARY TO BE 39TH DISTRICT

(P.A.) - AUCKLAND. Mar. 10. With 683 men and women present at the sessions of the 52nd (New Zealand) district conference, what is probably a record attendance at Rotary meetings in New Zealand and Australia was reported yesterday. Dr. W. P. Gordon, a past president of the Stratford club, was elected as district governor nominee for 1949-50 in succession to the present district governor, Mr. W. Calder Mackay. It was announced that at the end of the present Rotary year Ihe number of the district would be changed from 52nd to 39th. That was necessary because of the reorganisation of districts.
