INDIA UNABLE TO NATIONALISE INDUSTRY IMMEDIATELY
NEW DELHI, Mar. 4. The Prime Minister, Mr. Nehru, said the immediate nationalisation of Indian industries was impossible because the country lacked sufficient trained personnel and resourcesThe position would be reviewed at the end of 10 years, he said. Mr. Nehru, who was addressing the Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, said: “The criterion in deciding these issues won’t be the blind following of any ‘isms’ but consideration of the good of the common people as a whole.” He - continued: “Certain key industries must be under State control because of the danger in leaving them controlled by private interests. Others less important might be under private management subject to the usual control of the State.”
