U.S. Stands Aloof From Colonies Dispute
WASHINGTON, Mar. 4. The United States today declined to attend a meeting of the American Committee on Dependent Territories in Havana on March 15. The committee wsis formed at the Bosota conference Gt American States :o consider the status of areas in the iVestern Hemisphere under European •ontrol. The American refusal, announced by :he State Department, was based on ioubts that the committee would comjlete its assigned work without endangsring the principles of the United Mations Charter, t The principal areas under review are :he Falkland Islands. British control of vhich is challenged by Argentina, and 3ritish Honduras, whose control is :hallenged by Guatemala.
