CONSCRIPTION IN PEACETIME OPPOSED

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 22. Opposition to peacetime military conscription was declared in a resolution adopted by the biennial conference of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants now sitting in Wellington. This resolution will be forwarded to the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party and the New Zealand Federation of Labour. The conference resolved to support the proposal for an application to the Court of Arbitration for an increase of Is an hour in wage rates. This resolution will be forwarded to the Federation of Labour.
