American Achievements

The average New Zeaander was inclined to think that the United States dated back to the Mayflower and that the country had been developing for 300 to 400 years, said Professor E. R. Hudson, director of Canterbury Agricultural College, in a recent talk. In fact, it was only during New Zealand’s history that any major developments had taken place. The organised settlement of most of the country was only as old as that of New Zealand. That being so. the achievements of the United States, in every phase of life, had been marvellous.
