Dairy Factory Razed at Rahotu

(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 15. Only a concrete shell remains of the Kahui Road dairy Factory at Rahotu following a fire which swept the building.

Some cheese was saved and the boiler room is intact, but otherwise the plant, buildings and stocks are said to be a complete loss. The full extent of the damage in terms of money had not been assessed last night. This is the second time that fire has destroyed the factory. With the water pump put out of action early by the flames in the electrical equipment, there was never a question of saving the factory but only of rescuing as much manufactured cheese as possible.
