Food Poisoning Cases, at ’Varsity Hostel

(PA.) DUNEDIN, Feb. 15. Thirty-one cases of suspected food poisoning have been reported to the Department of Health from Carrington Hall, one of the Otago University hostels. Although victims were upset for some time, they were all able to sleep after a few hours. There has been no clue as to the cause of the outbreak. At first it was thought it had been contracted at a picnic until some who had not attended the outing were affected. The opinion has been expressed, however. that mripe fruit may have been a contributing factor.
