GISBORNE PLACED THIRD IN RIFLE TEAMS’ MATCH

(P.A.) TRENTIIAM. Feb. 11. Upper Hutt with an aggregate of 484 won the champion teams’ match, the first event on the final day of the national rifle meeting on the Trentham range today. The match consisted of seven shots — 300, 500 and GOO yards—for teams of five men.

The next best scores were:—Westport 480, Gisborne 476, Okawa No. 2 475, Okawa No. 1 473, Opaki No. 1 473, Invercargill 470, Auckland 470. This match will be followed by the Service Fifty shoot-off and the King’s Fifty shoot-off. The light is good and the wind variable but not difficult.
