Is Bormann Still Alive : Evidence in Letter
(11 a.m.) MUNICH, Feb. 10. The Munich newspaper Echo der VVoche publishes a photostat copy of a letitcr purporting to have been written last November by Martin Bormann, Hitler’s last deputy, who was generally believed to have been killed during the battle for Berlin.
The letter, dated from Wuerzburg, Bavaria, claimed that Bormann was in Western Germany. It was signed with initials M.B. The Echo der Woche states that Internal evidence suggests the letter was
written in Munich. One of Bormann’s former secretaries claims to have seen him there on November 18. The paper quotes a number of statements by handwriting experts and former acquaintances of Bormann and says it is highly probable the writer was Bormann, though it has not been finally proved.
