CHINESE REDS' PEACE TERMS REJECTED

SHANGHAI, Feb. 9. General Teng Wen-yi, the Chinese Defence Ministry spokesman, rejected the Communist proposals for a regional peace, describing them as “nothing but a farce.” General Teng stressed that the Government was willing to accept peace on three fundamental principles:— 1. Peace on an equal footing. 2. Overall or total peace. 3. Conditional peace. He reiterated the Government's determination to continue war preparations while suing for peace.
