Catchment Board, stated last evening that he hoped the delegates would have experienced a welcome commensurate with public appreciation of the occasion. Referring to the presence in Gisborne of Dr E. S. Archibald, director of national experimental farms in Canada, and Mr. E. G. Holt, deputy-director of the United States conservation organisation. Mr. Hair suggested that on their plane trip to this district they must have had a good bird’s-eye view of Ngauruhoe in eruption.
