JACKSON’S BAY ISOLATED BY SLIPS & WASH-OUTS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 10. Jackson’s Bay, 203 miles south from Hokitika, is isolated by slips and washouts in 15 places on the road, the first being about three miles north of Jackson’s Bay. This information was received today by the information section of the Prime Minister’s Department. The road to Jackson’s Bay was impassable yesterday and since then B.4in. of rain have fallen. Telephone communication also has been broken.
