ATOM SCIENTIST ELECTROCUTED IN LABORATORY

LONDON, Jan, 20. Mr. Geoffrey Fertel, aged 32, atom scientist ’'and a research fellow at Birmingham University’s Nuffield physics laboratory, was electrocuted last night while working on a cyclotron, the atom splitting machine. Professor M. Oliphant, director of the laboratory, stated that Mr. Fertel was electrocuted when he touched a high voltage cable carrying current, for the cyclotron. Mr. Fertel was killed instantly.
