MATAWAI NEWS

(Herald Correspondent.) A very happy and uccessful Sunday school picnic was held on Mrs. C. Hustler’s lawn. Games were played and all assembled on the verandah to enjoy the dainty fare provided by their parents and friends. Mrs A. E. Gibson presented each child with a book or card. Those present included Mesdames C. Hustler and G. F. Mortleman, who assisted greatly in providing for the children, Mrs. Gibson contributing the sandwiches. Mrs. G. F. Mortleman. on behalf of the pupils, presented the teacher with a double compendium as a token of appreciation from the parents. In thanking Mrs. Mortleman, Mrs. Gibson said that the tuition of the children had been a great joy to her. She thanked both parents and children for their co-operation.
