Williams Shield, the Mangapapa club held off the challenge of a Gisborne club E' team. Further challenges in succession by the Metropolitan, Kia Ora and Toko maru Bay clubs have been approved by the committee.

For the Miller Stars, held by D. Gray and D. Coutts (Kia Ora), challenges by the following have been approved: L. Morrow and J. Burns (Mangapapa), B Jenkinson and R. Smaill (Gisborne), D. Neal and B. Bull (Gisborne).
