With hordes of rabbits south of the border of the East Coast Rabbit Board district in the Northern Hawke s Bay area, Mr. W. F. Metcalfe ,a member ot the Royal Commission into the Sheep Industry, sounded a warning at a meet, ing of the Gisborne provincial executive of the Federated Farmers yesterIn his recent tour of the Dominion he had seen the effects of the rabbit infestation in many parts. “There are tens of thousands of acres in the South Island as bare as this table,” he said, appealing to the executive to be alert to the danger and give full support to the rabbit board and the rabbit control council. Mr. C .IT. Cooper said it behoved the East Coast board to give the menace full publicity available to make farmers take more notice of the dangers to which they were exposed.
