ARMY SPORTS TROPHY TAKEN BY C.M.D.
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec.lß. The Army inter-district sports meeting concluded yesterday when the 'Command Trophy was presented to the Central Military District by Brigadier C. E. Weir, Officer Commanding the Southern Military District. The trophy is awarded to the district gaining most points in this week’s tournamentcricket. swimming and athletics —and at the Rugby tournament last August. In the last round of the cricket tournament Central Military District. 177, beat Southern Military District, 127, by 50 runs. Northern Military District, 211, beat H.Q., 117, by 94 runs. The following is the provincial cricket team to represent the Army at the inter-services tournament at Auckland in January: Majors B. J. McGregor (N.M.D.), H. A. Purcell (H.Q.), Captains B. A. Andrews (C.M.D.), D. Roderick (11. Q.), R. W. Collins (H.G.), Lieutenants B. Poananga (C.M.D.), G. Tomline (C.M.D.), Staff Sergeants A. ! Fallows (N.M.D.), M. L. Page (S.M.D.), Sergeant J. Adams (S.M.D.), Corporal :E. Tien (N.M.D.), Lance Corporal D. Wilkinson (H.Q.).
