NEW BOARD TO SELL N.Z. APPLES AND PEARS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec, 18. The personnel of the new Apple and Pear Marketing Board, set up under the Apple and Pear Marketing Act of last session, was announced yesterday by the Minister of Marketing, Mr. E. L. Cullen, as follows: Chairman, Mr. H. Turner, Otago; nominees of Fruitgrowers’ Federation, Messrs. G. C. McMurtry, of Waimea, Nelson, and J. A. Ilainsworth, Central Otago; Government nominees, Messrs. K. B. Longmore (assistant Director of Marketing) and M. J. Moriarty (secretary of the Stabilisation Commission). The Minister said the board was a strong one, with members whose past experience made them self-fitted to perform the tasks allotted.
