FITZHERBERT HANDICAP
VOLTAIC (12), 9.10, is good and needs to be to succeed with this impost.
FLEETWOOD (4), 8.13, appears to be at the top of his form. CASTLEBRAE (14), 8.12. ran poorly last week, but it might pay to forget that run. FALSE STEP (15), 8.8, is a doubtful starter as she is being reserved for the Auckland Railway.
GAY STROLLER (13), 8.4, is not fancied.. TRAFALGAR DAY (1), 8.3, was surprisingly defeated at Woodville; may do better on his home track.
SORREL (3), 7.11, on his close Woodville second must enter calculations. CARMELITA (11), 7.8, has no recent form.
SPECIALIST (9), 7.5, was once useful in this class, but has no recent Hat form. SPARKLING SCHOLAR (2), 7.1, was first and third in back races at Woodville; has a rough chance. BALCAIRN (G), 7.0, is not fancied.
CURTANA (7), 7.0, is not a strong light-weight fancy, but might surprise. THE MISSIONER (5), 7.0, has been walloping well enough at Hastings to suggest him being a possibility.
