SCHOOL PATROLS ENTERTAINED BY AUTO. ASSOCIATION
School patrols and wardens, numbering about 70, of schools in the Gisborne area and the districts of Makaraka and Makauri, were entertained at Lows’ reception rooms yesterday afternoon by the Gisborne advisory committee of the Automobile Association (Auckland). The committee chairman. Mr. F. Tolerton, complimented the children on the fine work done during the year and their consistent loyalty to the ideals of school patrol service. He trusted that they would pass on the knowledge acquired to other children in the schools, the school patrols. Mr. J. H. R. Egan also spoke in commendation of the work being done by There were present, aiso, Mr. W. Findlay, the secretary of the committee, Mr. A. J. C. Webster, and the resident patrols, Messrs. V. Stubbings and I Caie. The normal convention for the Instruction of patrols will be conducted next March.
