CASES OF JEWELLERY SMASHED BY TRUCK
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 14.
A 10-ton truck loaded with vegetables from Pukekohe for the city market swerved to avoid a car in ' Broadway, Newmarket, at G. 15 o’clock yesterday morning and smashed several showcases of L. W. Tetley’s jewellery shop. The shop front was wrecked. The driver swung the truck between a post and other shopping premises. The truck was only lightly damaged.
