WOOL-BUYING BY THE CONTINENT

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 10. “British money is being poured into the Continent to help the European nations to get on their feet, and we find their representatives here using that money to outbid us for wool.”

This statement was made by Mr. Eric James, a director of two Yorkshire mills, before his departure by air today on his return to Britain after wool-buying visits to New Zealand and Australia, which, he said, while quite successful, would have been more so but for the domination of the market by foreign buyers.

"I certainly am going to have a few hard things to say in Yorkshire about the position, and the reason for the high clothing prices,” he said.
