HOLDERS WIN FOUR OF SIX RUBBERS IN TENNIS CASKET MATCH

WELLINGTON. Dec. 11
The defeat of the top Wellington player, Mrs. J. J. McVay, by the second Otago player. Miss M. Robertson, and the defeat of the top Otago doubles paid by the second Wellington pair were the surprises in the Nunneley Casket tennis match played on asphalt courts yesterday. The singles were halved but Wellington reached a strong position by winning both doubles matches. Results with Wellington names first.
Singles.-?-Mrs. J. J. McVay lost to Miss M. Robertson. 6—2, G—B, 2—6; Miss N. Fleming lost to Miss M. Kerr, 4—G, 2—G; Miss J. Webster d. Miss C. Neave, 2—G, 7—5, G—3; Mrs. E. Anderson d. Miss M. Pyle. 6 —l, I—6, G—2. Doubles. —Mrs- McVay and Miss Fleming d. Misses Pyle and Neave, 6 —2, G —2; Miss Webster and Mrs. Anderson d. Misses Kerr and Robertson, G—4, 6—3.
