END OF BUTTER RATIONING URGED
(P.A.) WELLINGTON. Oct. 5. that an unfair situation * exists in that New Zealand butter is being sent to the United States and Canada, where rationing has ceased, the Wellington Housewives’ Association considers that butter rationing should be abolished.
“We sacrificed our butter to send it to the people of Britain and since that is no longer the reason for rationing we think it is time that it ceased.” said the president, Mrs. F. F. Gilmer, in a statement today. “In cancelling consumer registration for butter the Minister of Supply has not gone far enough.”
