Over 200 Hours’ Sunshine Last Month

Although there was little rain last month, the sun did not shine as much as it did in September, 1947, when 218-3 hours of bright sunshine were recorded at the meteorological station, Darton Field. Last month 203.4 hours were recorded. However, the average temperature of 54.9 degrees was higher than the 53.2 degrees average in September, 1947. There were only two frosts last month, compared with nine in the corresponding month last year. The two frosts were on September 7 and 23, the heaviest being only 2.9 degrees. The highest maximum temperature was 75.2 degrees on September 23.' ;v* • - *■' ‘ '
