PERSIA PREPARES DEFENCES

TEHERAN. Sept. 29. Persia is devoting one-third of her total budget to the War Ministry, said Marshal Ali Razmara, reviewing the danger of war "Every moment war approaches nearer,” he said. "We will be sacrificed in the major Powers’ game. There is not the slightest doubt that Persia will be one of the main battlefields in any future war. We must not fear our neighbours’ strength or we will lose our independence.” The speech coincided with the report that there had been a major shuffle in the Persian Army’s higher ranks in preparation for any emergency.
