(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH. Aug. 30. The weather was fine on Saturday, but the track heavy for the second day of the Taranaki and EgrnontWanganui Hunt Club's combined meeting. The totalisator handled £47,632, compared with £47,181 10s last year. The total for the two days was £86,033. compared with £92,624 10s last year. A protest entered by the owner of Folkestone, the third horse in the Waihi Hack Handicap, against the winner, Our Dink, on the grounds of interference in the straight, was not upheld by the judicial committee. 'Four horses fell in the Stratford Handicap. Three riders, L. H. Clifford, F. Beguley, and R. Turnwald, were taken to hospital. An inquiry was opened, but adjourned until the evidence of the injured riders was available.
