THREE JOCKEYS HURT WHEN FOUR HORSES FELL

(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 30. When four horses fell at the threefurlong post in the Stratford Handicap at the hunt clubs’ combined meeting on Saturday three jockeys were injured and were taken to hospital with concussion. L. H Clifford, rider of Dymondy. also suffered spinal injuries. R. Turnwald, rider of Craven .suffered facial abrasions, and F. Beguley, rider of Chung Chong, 'received abrasions. Clifford was reported last night to be seriously ill, and Turnwald’s condi tion was fairly satisfactory. Beguley was discharged from hos pital yesterday. Travel King also fell, but the rider N. Vaughan, escaped with a shaking.
