CHARGE AGAINST PUBLICAN FAILS

(P.A.) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 2. Holding that the price order in respect of spirits was not clear as to what constituted a “reputed quart”— one-forty-second of which was stated to be a “nip"—the magistrate, Mr. A. A. McLachlan, yesterday afternoon dismissed a charge . brought by a Price Tribunal inspector against a Greymouth publican The charge alleged that the publican sold to the inspector a “nip” of brandy less than the full standard measure. It is believed that this is the first time the charge has been contested.
