These will bring to a climax a lengthy inquiry which has been conducted over a period of almost two years in which investigations have been made into the cause of the disastrous lire at Rongotai in 1946. Detective-Sergeant Long, Palmerston North, conducted almost the whole of the investigations. Recently he travelled to Auckland and arrested a man who will appear in the Police Court at Palmerston North tomorrow on a charge of arson in relation to a fire at Ohakea aerodrome 18 months ago when shed No. 70 was destroyed and damage amounting to about £2OOO was caused. The shed contained a quantity of furniture and photographic equipment. Detective-Sergeant Long has been working on the case almost continuously since inquiries were instituted and has made investigations in the South Island as well as in all parts of the North Island.
