BEDROOM SHOOTING TRAGEDY
SYDNEY. June 22.
Charged with having murdered a young man whom he found in his daughter’s bedroom early yesterday, Frederick Audsley, 61, of Mosman, carpenter, was remanded at the Central Court.
The dead man, who was shot, is. William Charles Lcs Jack Crawford, 24, of Bexley. BothjjMosman and Bexley are suburbs of Sydney. The police prosecutor, Sergeant Briese, said it was alleged Crawford was found by Audsley in his daughter’s bedroom at 7.45 a.m. yesterday. Audsley abused him and ordered him from the house.
“It is alleged Audsley then went to the garage, where he got a rifle and loaded it,’’ Sergeant Briese added. “He returned to the bedroom, where Crawford was dressing, and there allegedly shot him.”
Sergeant Briese said the inquest would be held on July 1. Appealing for bail, Mr. J. H. Yeldham (for Audsley) said his client was well known and widely respected. Mr. Harris, S.M., refused bail.
