MOVE TO TAKE OVER CHURCH SCHOOLS

(11.15 a.m.) BUDAPEST, June 15. The Minister of Culture, M. Gyula Ortutay, submitted to Parliament a bill to nationalise church schools. He asked for urgent consideration of the measure which has already caused riots, arrests and the death of a policeman. The Protestant churches have accepted the Government’s proposal to nationalise schools but Catholics still oppose the measure.
