SYDNEY, June 15. Many problems will have to be faced in the re-establishment of trade w:th the Netherlands East Indies after a standstill lasting two and three-quarter years, according to the monthly summary of the National Bank of Australasia.
During the period in which a number of Australian unions banned Dutch shipping in Australian ports other countries established regular markets American products, in particular, have been arriving in increasing quantities. Recently, the United States has been supplying over 40 per cent of the total imports to the Netherlands East Indies.
Other suppliers are: Holland 13 per cent, Britain 8 per cent, and Japan 8 per cent. In the past two years American flour has become a well-established import.
