STINKWOOD TREE SOLD FOR £ISOO

PORT ELIZABETH, April 7.

The sale of a single stinkwood tree for £ISOO by the Forestry Department has recalled here that the present price of 122 s per cubic foot represents a 4000 per cent increase over the pre-war price of 3s per cubic foot. Stinkwood trees were once sold to forestry workers at 3s a tree. A pine tree between 30 and 35 years old would at present.
