REYNOLDS CUP QUALIFYING ROUND AT AWAPUNI

The week-end programme at the P.B. Golf Club’s links at Awapum comprised the qualifying round and associated preliminaries to the Reynolds Cup tournament, which will commence next Saturday. Competitions included the best gross scores, the best net scores and a Stableford bogey. Best gross scores returned were headed by F. Fenwick, with 74 and other good cards were those of E. S. Toogood. 75; J. H. Mansfield, n; M. W. Howe, 79, J. T. Dodgshun, <9; G. H. Stewart, I. D. Bramwell, and G. L. Winter, 80. The net score competition was headed bv A. J. Humphreys, 88—23—65; and others in the leading group were J. L. South, 90-24-66; G. G. Simpson, 90—24—66; G. L. Winter, 80—12—68, E V. Harrison, 91 —21 —70; and W. Neal, 94—24—70. G. 11. Stewart (handicap 6) put up a good performance to win the Stableford competition, scoring 39 points; with M. W. Howe (81. 37 points; I. D. Bramwell GO). 36 points; F. H. Stephenson (15), 35 points; R. McWilliams (23), 35 points; J. S. Adams (15), 34 points; D. E. Chrisp (12), 34 points: M. J. Brownlie HO), 33 points; N. H. Bull (10), 33 points; and W. M. Jenkins (15), 32 points, also well in the picture. The first 82 qualifiers for the Reynolds Cup tournament will comprise entrants with gross scores from 74 to 88 inclusive. The second 32 will comprise those with net scores from 66 to 77 inclusive: and the third group of 32 will be Uiosc with net scores between 78 and 84 inclusive. Compilation of the lists will be subject to count-backs where more than the required number of cards are available. The draw will be published later in the week.

WOMEN'S MID-WEEK DRAW Playing in the week-end Miss J. Scott'won the trophy for the unqualified players ol’ the P.B. Ladies' Golf Club with a score of 50 for nine holes.
