BITTER DEBATE ON ANTI-RED MEASURES

(9.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, June 1,4. Delegates representing 37,000 workers belonging to the iron and building trades unions walked out from the State conference of the Australian Labour Party yesterday when the conference after a bitter debate carried a motion that industrial groups within the Labour Party should work to overthrow Communist officials in the trades unions.

The leader of one section of the iron workers said his delegation had withdrawn to consider whether thev should recommend the cancelling of affiliation with the Australian Labour Party.
