Persistent effort bv the High School first fifteen achieved results and robbed the H. 5.0.8. Intermediate side of victory in a spectacular curtain-raiser on the Gisborne Oval No. 1 ground. A penalty goal kicked bv the full-back, R. Woon. gave H. 5.0.8. a three-point lead for the greater part of the play. Territorial exchanges were fairly even, though the School backs could be C"C-d----ited with a slight advantage in the concluding 15 minutes and a series of assaults led to a try wide-out just before full time by the wing. Wiliams. The kick failed, the game thus ending in a draw. Mr. J. Bard well was the referee.
