OBITUARY

COUNTESS OF LIVERPOOL

The death took place on May 25 at Courtenay House, Winchester, of Annette Louise, widow of the second Earl of Liverpool and daughter of the fifth Viscount Monck. The Countess of Liverpool was well known to many New Zealanders, as she lived here from 1913 to 1920 during her husband’s term of office as Governor-General Throughout the First World War she took an untiring interest in an active part in many women’s war services, and did a great deal for returned soldiers in the years following the war. Her home in England was always open house to New Zealanders.
