£4700 ALLOCATED TO CHARITABLE OBJECTS BY TRUST
WELLINGTON, June 11
Its last year’s income of £4700 will be spent by the J. R. McKenzie Trust Board on a selected list of general and charitable objects. At the annual meeting of the board which made allocations the chairman, Mr. J. S. Barton, said that since the board was established in 1940 £40,600 had been received and spent. The new allocations are:—
Specific objects (£2300): New Zealand R.S.A. £SOO, Plunket Society £875. Auckland Institute for the Care of Backward Children £IBO, Wellington After Care Society £270, occupation centres for sub-normal children in Christchurch and Dunedin £l5O each. Cholmondeley Children’s Home. Christchurch. £175.
General objects (£2100): Heritage £IOOO grant towards expenses, . Miss Miraka Rahururi in connection with the fellowship in social science to he undertaken at Honolulu £l5O. Grants totalling £2BO were made to the various Missions to Seamen in the four metropolitan centres. Allocations totalling £l2O were made to Toe H in Auckland. Wellington, Canterbury and Westland, and Otago and Southland. The Auckland Maori Community Centre receives £2OO and the New Zealand Federation of Tuberculosis Associations £IOO. Grants ranging from £25 to £SO and totalling £550 were made to 18 organisations throughout New Zealand.
