CANBERRA, June 11. An allegation that the Government was allowing trade unions to prevent the training of ex-servicemen for building and other trades which desperately needed labour was made by Mr. j. Francis (Liberal), in the House of Representatives. “The Government is being dictated to by the secretary of the Building Workers’ Industrial Union. He is preventing the training of ex-servicemen for reasons sufficiently obvious to those who know the Communist programme of disruption. Similar tactics are being followed by officials of the Plumbers’ Union,” Mr. Francis added.
