BONES OF FLYERS
SUBMERGED LIBERATOR QUEENSLAND COAST INVESTIGATION PENDING MELBOURNE May 14. A native diver yesterday reported that there were a number of skeletons in a Liberator bomber which had been found lying in 20ft. of water at Opal Reef near Cairns. Queensland. The plane, which is almost certainly a wartime casualty was discovered by a fisherman on Sunday and a party was despatched to investigate. The Liberator has the United States Air Force stars on the wings. The R.A.A.F., the Civil Aviation Department and the United States tion are awaiting reports from bairns of the identification letters.
