(Herald Special Service.; The South Canterbury Jockey Club's winter meeting will be opened at Washdyke tomorrow and all the fields will be well filled. Horses have been drawn from a wide area extending as far ast he West Coast and some close racing can be expected. Much-needed rain fell during the week and the track should now provide yielding but uot soft going. The following horses can lie expected to race prominently:— TEKAPO HURDLES—Big Top, Pedantic, Sphere. CLAREMONT HACK HANDICAP. Ned Kelly, All Fair, Bonnie Nuit. OPIIII TROT.—Gloxania, Glenrowan, Gay Scott. ELLOUGIITON HANDICAP— Falconbridge, Mestiza, Diameter. PAKEOKA HACK STEEPLECHASE. Lislieen, Edward, Tamerlane. SEADOWN HANDICAP. Theocritus, Flving Orders, Geisha Girl. BE ACO NS FIELD TROT.—Sirocco, Incredible, Rhonda Grattan. KINGSOOWN HACK HANDICAP. Bright News, Moonlit, Detract.
