GENERAL INCREASE
MEAT SCHEDULE RATES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 1. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board advises that the North Island schedules for lambs, wethers and ewes will be increased by one-eighth of a penny per lb as from Monday. The new rates operating on Mondav will be as follow: Lambs. —Prime crossbred, 20 to 361 b, 12 l-8d; 37 to 421 b, 11 5-8 d:; 43 to 501 b, 11 l-8d; 51 to 561 b. 10 5-Bd. Prime ’Downs: 20 to 361 b, 12 3-8 d; 37 to 421 b, 11 7-Sd; 43 to 501 b, 11 3-8 d: 51 to 561 b. 10 7-3 d. All seconds: 20 to 421 b, 11 1 -Sd; 43 to 501 b, 10 3-Bd. Wethers.— -Prime: 481 b and tinder, 8 l-8d: 49 to 641 b, 7 7-8 d; 65 to 901 b. 42s each. Seconds: 641 b and under, 7 3-8 d: 65 to 901 b. 39s 4d each. Ewes. —641 b and under, a 5-8 d; 60 to 90!b, 30s.
